We operate a small design studio and modest-sized workshop deep in the woods, next to our home in rural Bedfordshire. Plus 3 kids and approximately 12 cats...
From there we design and make projects mostly based on wood, but also include all sorts of other materials such as glass, steel, aluminium, resin, and various fabrics as well as lighting and increasingly automation fixtures.
Thomas started his career as a joiner learning to fit out wooden boats with furniture and cabinetry at a boatyard on the Suffolk coast. From there he progressed into kitchens, fitted furniture, free-standing furniture as well as the occasional garden building.
Over the years Tinc Design’s team has grown and progressed further into the design side of work producing hundreds of 3D models, schemes of work and design briefs (as well as making an awful lot of things) for domestic and commercial customers all over the country. It’s not uncommon to simultaneously have a set of alcove shelves for a 3-bed semi in the spray booth alongside the 25 cabinets that form the reception for a public building at the same time.
